What Should The Average Elctricity Consumption In An All Electric House Be?

Build Your Own Wood Burning Pizza Oven

My current supplier (Scottish Power) indicates I’ve used 16,402kWh between 28/07/06 and 13/11/07 (473 days) and 6280kWh between 13/11/07 and 11/02/08 (90 days). I think this is extremely high, as I though the average household consumption was in the region of 5000kWh per annum.
As well as the usual TV, DVD, cooker, washing machine, fridge etc (A rated for energy consumption where possible. Low energy bulbs in all the lights too) etc, the house is heated by 3 storage heaters which are on at their lowest setting between Oct and March and off the rest of the time, an electric fire (rarely on) and two panel heaters (again rarely on). I’m out at work between 8 and 6 five days per week. Currently using SP’s ‘Price Fall’ tariff.
Any help would be appreciated.
