What Is Wrong With My Electric Flat Top Stove?

Build Your Own Wood Burning Pizza Oven

The last few days we have been using the stove top a lot to simmer chili. My hubby prefers this method over a slow cooker….anyways tonight all of a sudden the heating element wont shut off. It got extremely hot and when hubby turned the dial to off it stayed on. We even tried unplugging it and then plugging it back in and it just started right back up. Any suggestions? Is there some sort of “reset” buttong I dont know about? LOL

  1. Sounds like that heating element’s (surface burner) infinite switch burned out. You can replace this part. Get your appliances model number off your appliance. If you do not know where to look, this page will help you:http://www.apwagner.com/index.php?main_p…
Go to a parts site, I use http://www.apwagner.com.
Put in your model number in the model search and you will be presented not only with diagrams, but with a list of parts for your appliance as well.

  2. The temperature sensor for the burner is kaput..

  3. The knob might be striped out, pull the knob off and try turning the stem with some pliers. Or you might have a bad (dial)

  4. your hotness was keeping it going lol.
