I Was thinking about making my BF a box of decorated cookies and put them in a heart shaped box that i decorated for for valentines day. I know its a bit cliche, but do you think its a good idea? And if i add something else, what should it be?

There’s just an odd smell whenever I preheat the oven, it smells very similar to butane, lighter fluid, it goes away after a while but I’m wondering if this is normal for some stoves. I called my landlord and asked him about this but he says it’s normal. Should I call shenanigans?!
