Some Color Help For My Kitchen Please?
I just bought a foreclosed home and have gutted the kitchen. We are starting over from scratch and need some advice for the color scheme. We purchased a dark grey/black marbled countertop so it is fairly dark and the cabinets are a medium brown/cherry color. We have black appliances. We are going with a light/medium grey floor tile and really light grey paint for the walls. My question is regarding the color of the backsplash tiles – should we go with a medium gray tile to sort of tie together the light floors and walls with the dark counter and appliances? Or go with a really light grey tile to match the walls and floors? Is there a rule of thumb about whether the walls or floors should be darker? Any advice is much appreciated!!! Let me know what you think…

I don’t know what your kitchen looks like in person, so you should be the one to decide. Based on what you said, I would choose a color to match the floor so you could kind of balance out your kitchen a bit. Good luck!
well I’m not an expert, I’m 17 and still live with my mum lol
if it was me i would do it black, but I’m kinda a dark perosn =S
but I think it’s a better idea to do it a medium grey so it like blends all the colours in, instead of matching it with the walls and floors, gives the room a bit more tone if you know what i mean.
black marbled countertops, brown/cherry cabinets and black appliances
it sounds like my dream home
you have good taste lol
i saw a kitchen one time with dark wood..like cherry wood..and black appliances and like medium blue walls. like almost royal blue but not that dark. and it looked really good. blue looks good with both the wood colors and the black/gray.
hope this helps
i would go with the light grey because it will lighten up the room and bring out the floor color. If you choose the darker, i believe it will tone the vibe of the room down and make it more droned out. That’s just my opinion…hope i helped!
we have dark cherry cabinets, black granite counters & black appliances… our floors are birch/light wood hardwood and our walls are a light beige… it makes the kitchen feel huge! i’d go with something light… all the dark cabinets/appliances will shrink it with dark paint
Well usually making the walls darker will make the room seem smaller. So I would suggest making them seem lighter.. I would say medium grey to tie together the floor and walls.
Don’t use all gray. For the tiles use a very bright color like yellow. It will give your kitchen an edgy look. And it will make happy.
i would go with the light gray tile because theres alot of dark things and i think it would calm it down
anything that reminds you of moldy cheese. makes for great conversation.
