We have maple cabinets w/ a light finish and bamboo floors in our kitchen. What kind of countertops should I buy? Also, what color would look the best with light cabinets and floors? Oh and the appliances are stainless (but not shiny).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
If looking for durability and cost efficient?
buy laminate
go to any Do It Yourself store and pick up samples that catch your eye
take them home and decide there
I am putting in Sedona Spa laminate by Wilsonart in my bathroom
with oak cabinet, light beige tiled floor
( I want a calm spa like feel and to keep the bathroom visually looking larger)
the darker shades look very dramatic
( if thats the look you want)
laminate can come in shiny, matte, or the stone finish)
Have fun picking out samples
I have a reddish/burgundy colored counter top with shades of gray & beige/light brown in it. The colored counter top looks awesome with my light maple kitchen table, hutch, & floors. I love it! I decorate the kitchen with a little touch of red here & there. The color really stands out & I get a lot of complements on it.
Concrete counters are very pretty and not expensive. You can get them in almost any color now. Even with specks of color, small stones, or anything you want. Go to concretenetwork.com for answers and photos. Lots of links will come up if you just search concrete counter tops. I would go with a dark color on light wood.
black granite with some flecks of yellowish flonde with a bullose edge.
