The stove top is also quite hot all the time, even if I hasnt been on all day… is this ok?

  1. Gas stoves usually has a pilot light ( small flame ) on all the time which is why it fells hot,very normal. As goes for the orange sticky substance, it sounds like you need to get some good oven cleaner and get all that built-up grease residue removed. This happens a lot. If your vents are removable then take it out and soak it in soapy water and give it a good rinse or put it in a dish washer.

  2. sounds like a grease build up try cleaning the vents with either greased lighting or soilex. It the build up is not cleaned it could cause a grease fire so yes it is dangerous.
    The stove top is hot from the pilot lights if the stove is clean it should not be a problem
