  1. Turn it off after 20 minutes and the rice should be perfect. Unfortunately, you have a defective cooker. It is suppose to shut off to holding temp as soon as the temp goes above about 240 degrees. It should simply be impossible to burn rice in a cooker; that is why they were invented.
I cook in one everyday at work and I use one cup medium grain rice with two cups water and it takes almost exactly 20 minutes.
If you want to replace it, they are only a few bucks if you pick them up in Salvation Army, often they have often even never been used. Zoriji is the best brand if you can find it.
In Japan (I lived there for six months) they often leave their their rice out on hold for at least one day but I don’t recommend it past that. You can get a pretty bad type of food poisoning from rice called B Cereus. What I do is put the cooked rice in a metal bowl that just fits into the cooker and then warm it in the cooker with some water in the bottom. I get about three days out of it as long as I cover it and put it in the fridge every night.
When I make my rice I start by putting the rice in with just enough oil to coat it. I stir it every minute or so until it starts to smell nutty (about 5 minutes), then add the salt and water in. It is better after it sits for about 20 minutes. This gives you a rice that isn’t gummy.

  2. You should add little oil. In rice cooker exact quantity of water is a must.Quantity of water will vary with type of rice you are making. Try cooking in a pan first. Cover pan with lid when water in rice starts boiling. Once you know the right quantity of water, you can switch to rice cooker. Advantage of pan is that you can stir the rice when water is nearly evaporated. This is the main reason, rice cooke is not very popular.

  3. if it has a heat setting, you may want to try turning your rice cooker down to a lower setting. Adding a little bit of extra virgin olive oil or butter may help if you add it in as it is cooking and give it a little stir. As far as leaving it overnight, I wouldn’t reccomend it. You could make it and then store it in tupperware in the fridge. If you keep it in the refridgerator I would say a good solid week. Hope this helps!!

  4. put butter or oil in it , i wouldn’t have thje heat way high either that could cause the bottom of the rice to burn so fast… i wouldn’t leave rice in the pan it will get stuck and it’s just really messy to clean, put it in something and i wouldnt keep it in the fridge longer then 2 days

  5. Add more water or don’t cook it as long will help not burn it.
I have left rice overnight and it has been fine to eat, I have never left it for more than a day though so I wouldn’t know if it was still good then

  6. To make perfect white rice, add 2 cups water to every cup rice; add a pinch or two of salt. Bring water to boil, then simmer with pan lid on till all water gone. Don’t stir. Ever.
Most times, two herbs will taste better than three.

  7. becuse you are not stirring all of it
you need to stir the bottom of the pan too
use butter or vegetable oil on the bottom to prevent burning

  8. Go to the stovetop, follow directions and use a tight fitting lid.
Chances are your rice cooker is defective.

  10. a little bit of oil in the bottom of the pan

  11. you cook it for too long.

  12. put less more water that way it does not evaporate
    your aviatar is cool

  13. try greasing the bottom with a little vegatble oil. itll prevent it from burning
