I am looking at buying a house, and sometimes the listing has wrong information. So I want to be able to check for myself if the house uses electric or gas heating. I can tell immediately if the stove uses gas vs electric. Is there an easy way to check for the heating?

Electric heat has no exhaust. gas has to have some hind of pipe, or vent. Also,,, gas will enter with a pipe. usually a black iron pipe,,, follow the pipe to a meter, or tank, just to be sure, Then get the name and model # off the furnace, look it up on the net.
if it has water pipes to the rad it is gas if it pluck in to a socket it is electric but the best way is to ask
