  1. There are different types of electric ovens. Most are based on resistance heating. Run an electric current through a wire heating element. In most toasters, you can see the wire get red hot. The heating elements are designed to have fairly high electrical resistance so the power is I^2*R. A microwave oven is also an electric over but understanding how microwaves heat things is more complicated. There are also infra red electric heaters where light bulb is designed specifically to create lot of energy in the infra red range. There are even more types of electric ovens but this is a good start. good luck
