Gas Stove Oven Problem?

Build Your Own Wood Burning Pizza Oven

I just moved into a my new place and had the gas turned on and I’ve found that my gas stove works but the oven doesn’t work. I’ve got the pilot lit on the top for the stove burners which ive tested a lot and they work every time
my problem comes when I try to heat the stove. The pilot on the bottom is lit but there is no gas running to the bottom burner. Ive even set the oven all the way to broil and nothing happen.
My step father suggested that the thermostat might need to be opened but I don’t see anything that looks like a thermostat. I’m thinking the sensing tube may be bad or the manifold where the gas goes into the bottom burner may be bad.
I really want to cook these Pizza’s so I would really appreciate anybody’s help or info

  1. Hi, I built many a BBQ, and many a times worked on my 40 year old stove. The best and safest advise I can give to you ,is to call the Gas Co. At no charge to you, they will promptly come out, and if possible fix it for you.Or at least get it going. Do this before you find yourself across town, and I don’t mean drive. They’ll do this for free. It’s a courtesy call. They like to keep their customers.Bye

  2. Is this your stove from before? If so, did it work in the last place? Does it have an electric plug? Is it plugged in? is the circuit breaker off?
Some take time to fire up. Mine has a electric glow starter that has to glow. takes about a minute.
If it came with the rental unit then call the super.

  3. Sounds like the burner orifice, ( the part that allows gas into the burner), or the burner is stopped up. You can remove these with a small wrench and a screwdriver. Use a wire brush on the burner. To clean the pilot, find a small but stiff wire to push the dabree from the tiny hole.
