Can You Paint A Refrigerator And Dishwasher (pics Included)?
My husband and I are doing a remodel on our kitchen, we are putting in black tile countertops, beadboard backsplash and painting the walls a vintage yellow. We replaced our stove with a black and stainless steel one, however our dishwasher and refrigerator wont be in for 6-8 weeks (we had to order them). Can I just paint my fridge and dishwasher until the new ones come in. I dont want white appliances for the holidays. here is my before picture http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp317…
and now (we are still remodeling )http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp317…

yes you can paint them
you need “refrigerator paint”
there are lots of articles on the net
here is just onehttp://www.essortment.com/home/refrigera…
and you would need to find out a local stockists to you, or order on line
Yes you can. I painted an old stove that was harvest gold, changing it to white. This was over 5 years ago. Still looks good.
Start by cleaning the painted area, removing all grease and dirt. Next, sand the existing painted surface. I recommend using a wet/dry sand paper 320grit. Sand enough to remove the gloss from the old paint. You do not want to sand to the bare metal. After sanding, clean off all dust particles using a “tac cloth” which can be purchased at any hardware store that sells paint or wood finishing products. I assume that you are going to spray paint. If so, purchase a spray primer and prime the surface. Allow to dry. Lightly wet sand with 400 grit just enough to knock off the high spots, use a tac cloth to remove any dust particles. Next apply the paint in the color you desire. I recommend two coats, lightly sand and clean between coats.
You will be good to go!
Any store that sells paint will have appliance paint.
I’ve never used it, but I know people who have and it’s great.
Tricky to spray without runs, but looks really good.
You can always spray paint your old appliances, easy and a quick fix. Although use in a well ventilated area. And I would not advise using it on cooking surfaces like a toaster.
Hope this helps.
