Here’s a short clip of the rig as it prepares to negotiate a very tight right hand turn in Two Hills. All of the wheels on the Scheurle trailer units are steerable. This coker weighed in at 456000 kg (trailers and trucks extra) Each of the trailer units has 160 wheels. (320 wheels on 20 axles in total) These coker ovens weigh more than 500 tons, 10 meters in diameter, 80 meters long, are are on their way from Edmonton to the oilsands plants at Fort McMurray. They have as many as 7 tractors pulling and pushing, the Scheurle trailer units have 160 wheels each. Travel speed is from 10-30 kmh. Manufactured by Cessco Inc. and also Dacro Industries Ltd. The biggest piece hauled so far was 1700000 pounds or about 850 tonnes. It was the heaviest road load ever transported in North America. So far, they’ve manufactured and moved at least 8 units like this. The move takes about a week for the 550km journey from Edmonton to Fort McMurray. More are being built as more of the oilsands are being exploited. Most of the big loads are moved in winter when the roads are frozen solid. The bridge over the North Saskatchewan River at Duvernay had to be reinforced. Two companies handle the hauling, Mammoet Transportation Inc. and Premay Equipment Ltd. in Edmonton After the vessels are assembled, they are put into a gigantic heat-treating oven where they are baked to take out stresses. Check out the high-res. photos on my pbase gallery www.pbase.com Another load is being rigged for moving this …
I’ve been looking at a bunch of Hungarian dessert recipes that need to be baked in the oven. I was shocked that most of them just said “bake in a hot oven until golden” instead of indicating an actual oven temperature. Can the oven temperature be set on Hungarian ovens?
i’m using microwave ovens for a long time and just now i found out that it may be dangerous… i dont know… is it dangerous guys? and if its that hazardous, how come its not completely banned world wide? i guess i want to deny the fact that its harmful because im a microwave user… but is it really dangerous do the point of infertility or cancer?
- What is the main difference between the ways food gets cooked in conventional (infrared) and microwave ovens?
- Which waves penetrate food deeper: lower or higher frequency? Why?
- Why do metal objects spark / “explode” inside the microwave?
- Why isn’t the microwave oven door solid (to prevent ‘leaking‟ of the microwaves outside)? Is this because the waves are too big to escape through the mesh?
I was recently told by a fairly reputable source that for health reasons it is actually illegal to use microwave ovens in Japan, especially for heating food that is for human consumption. I find this hard to believe. He mentioned that in Japan they have a different method of heating food “to go” or for reheating leftovers at home. Could this be true? I sure would like to know. Thank you!
It seems like every toaster oven I’ve ever had works perfectly for 2-3 months, then works alright for 2-3 more months, then is just terrible from that point out. What about toaster ovens makes them always fade out like that?
I am part of an ecybermission team and we are researching the dangers of microwave ovens. How they destroy the cells, make the body malfunction, and warp the DNA of any food by juxtaposing the molecules and transforming them into chemicals that eat away at the human body.
I am starting a paper on it. Here’s my proof and my beginnings: www.xanga.com/girls_for_God
Are there a good review websites about Microwave Ovens that aren’t complicated?
